Berber Shelter was born in Tamraght, a small fishing village that has become a peaceful haven for travellers seeking authenticity. Here, in the heart of Taghazout Bay, days move to the rhythm of the sun, in a unique atmosphere where the ocean, hills and Amazigh culture blend together.
The face of Berber Shelter
After fifteen years in the pharmaceutical industry, followed by a stint in cosmetics in Agadir, Mehdi chose to settle in Tamraght, captivated by the beauty of the region and its vibrant energy.
From this passion, Berber Shelter was born: three high-standard apartments designed as refined yet warm cocoons where you feel at home straight away.
More than a host, Mehdi is the face of Berber Shelter. He prides himself on welcoming every traveller with simplicity, attentiveness and generosity—so each guest leaves with the memory of an unforgettable stay.
Between ocean, hills and argan trees
Tamraght enjoys an exceptional climate, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and mild temperatures in every season. Nestled between the Atlantic and the hills, the village is surrounded by argan trees – emblems of the Souss region, listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
Just steps away, the beaches serve up some of the best waves in Morocco – and even Africa – making Taghazout Bay a surfers’ paradise. And for a nature escape, Paradise Valley, with its waterfalls and natural pools, is only a short drive away.
